Stop the burn!
I almost never post. But I am posting today - I am asking everyone I know on LJ to send WET WINDLESS thoughts to my state. I am a good 30 miles from the closest fires here in Colorado but there are many people/places/animals that are being devastated by these fires. So any good thoughts you can spare for my beloved state - please do so. If you want to help financially - consider donating to the Colorado Red Cross. This is some scary stuff going on. For those of you who know me in real life- you KNOW how much I love living here and how much the beauty of Colorado means to me. Thank you kindly for all the good thoughts.

So you know how I know I've changed fandoms?
Last night we had a sellout show (whoopeeeee!) with my new band. Standing room only. I was nervous as all get out and kind of shakin' in my boots. Sort of. Okay - there was just a tiny bit of shaking going on and I was wearing clogs not boots.
The only thing that calmed me down was the thought that perhaps Sam Winchester was sitting in the audience being all impressed with my mad mandolin playin' skillz. I feel like a double (or even triple) crossin' two timin' ungrateful Due South fan. It used to be that Fraser and Kowalski got me out of those butterfly in the stomach performance scrapes. Then it was Dean Winchester but now it's Sam! How did I slide from Dean to Sam? When did that happen?
I do know that NO ONE in the audience knew why I kept getting these saucy little grins every once in awhile. It was just a case of Sam coming to my rescue! I really need another icon.

This makes me less grumpy today
Although I am not really grumpy - more like - it's Friday at 3:51 and I would rather be home right now. But this little youtube makes staying at work with my superior speakers and bigger computer screen well worth it.

Good bye betagoddess
I just heard that she lost her fight. She was a very warm presence here on LJ. I loved her posts about her grandson Benjamin and her beautiful flower pics. She fought cancer with grace and humility and humor. I will miss her here on LJ - I can't imagine what her family is going through. betagoddess  you will be missed!
